Albion in the spring is a time for graduation, bicycling and planting flowers.
Albion College Observatory, on the far left, has a special telescope that was of interest to the Smithsonian Institution, but still at its original location. Goodrich Chapel was named after Dr. Frederic S. Goodrich, Albion College Chaplain for more than half a century.
Albion College graduation in early May brings many visitors to Albion, and is a time of gratitude and reflection on the transformation to a new life for many. The volunteer group “Citizens to Beautify Albion” plants flowers along Albion’s main roads.
The group was founded by the late Tuskegee Airman Richard Weatherford. They would love to have you join them in spring planting, summer tending, and fall clean up. In the winter you can come and eat with Albion residents and visitors at the annual “Men Who Cook” fundraiser feast.
Two major landmarks in Albion that are connected to downtown Albion shown in this mural section are the water tower, and the Coca-Cola mural. The Coca-Cola mural was last painted in 1991 and is due for repainting in 2019.
This view of Albion Spring is part of a 56-foot long mural in the drive-thru of the former Huntington Bank in downtown Albion. The mural is called the Albion “River of Time” because it shows a linear scene depicting things happening in all four seasons in Albion, along with the river, brick streets, river trail, and parks.
